Master Tung Kai Ying was born in1941.
He is the Master of our school and is part of the grand family of Masters of Tai Chi Chuan.
He is the eldest son of Grand Master Tung Hu Ling and the grandson of Grand Master Tung Ying Jié who studied under Yang Cheng Fu (see article " Yang style, Tung family ").
Master Tung Kai Ying started studying Tai Chi Chuan at the age of 8 in the pure Chinese tradition with his father and his grandfather.
Thanks to his natural aptitude and his rapid progress his grandfather gave him the name of " Kai Ying ".
" Ying " being his grandfather’s name and " Kai " meaning " to follow after ".
Kai Ying can be interpreted as " he who follows after his grandfather in the tradition of Tai Chi Chuan ".
Master Tung has taught in Hong Kong, in Thaïland, in Singapore andin Malaiysia and has been teaching since 1971 in Los Angeles, USA where he set up his academy : « The Tung Kai Ying Academy of Tai Chi Chuan » and where any student who is sincere and of good will can be taught.
He organises « Master Camps » in the States for his students and teachers from Europe and the States alike.
Master Tung goes regularly to supervise the teaching of the style in Asia, Europe, Singapore, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Italy and Sicily where he runs Master Classes.
